Hello my lovelies!

It's been a very long time since I have posted on my, The French Dressing Room, blog!

So here I am with tablescaping ideas for dressing room, walk-in-closets and vanity tables..,

~When we enjoyed afternoon tea few week's ago, one of the little girl's grandmother, who is friend of mine, ESPECIALLY requested that we show her granddaughter my dressing room..,

What followed was a fun frolic of playing dress-up after enjoying afternoon tea..Fun! Out came the white feather boas and the the fun ensued!..,

AS I WAS PERUSING MY BLOG ARCHIVES I CAME UPON THESES PICTURES AND DECIDED TO RE-POST THIS ON MY, THE FRENCH DRESSING ROOM, BLOG TODAY.., Enjoy!

First, find out..,

In this blog post you will find both afternoon tea and dress makers mannequins amongst side other lovely inspirations..,

I LOVE THESE DRESS MAKERS FORMS/ MANNEQUINS, FROM CORSET LACED MANNEQUINS!..,

Our tea party menu was actually quite simple as Afternoon Tea's go. It consisted of warm blueberry scones served with Cream Of Earl Grey Tea flavored, clotted cream..,

THE CLOTTED CREAM WAS ALSO SERVED WITH GINGER JAM CONSERVE AND WHIPPED CREAMY BUTTER. ALSO THERE WERE DAINTY TEA SANDWICHES, BOTH EGG SALAD SANDWICHES THAT WERE EDGED IN SNIPPED CHIVES AND SPECIAL TUNA SALAD SANDWICHES, WHICH WERE OH-SO-DELECTABLE AND MADE BY DEAR GAIL..,

There was also a dainty chocolate cheesecake iced with fresh creamy sweet whipped real cream and drizzled in caramel and chocolate sauces and sliced almonds as a garnish. ~ The cake was then edged in fresh strawberries..,

Essentially that was it!

~ The cupcakes, chocolate truffles, sugar glittered strawberry and pears were faux ones and were used as pretty little decorative accents AND NOW.., HERE IS THE FUN INSPIRATION PART..,

~ PRETTY LITTLE DECORATIVE, VANITY DRESSING TABLE 'PROPS' THAT YOU CAN ALSO USE FOR YOUR VANITY TABLES..,

THE KIND OF LITTLE VANITY TABLE ITEMS THAT I SOMETIMES USE IN MY DRESSING ROOM ON MY VANITY TABLE..,

TAKE A FRESH LOOK AT WHAT YOU OWN WITH FRESH EYES.., COULD YOU RE-PURPOSE A CANDY DISH, A SAUCER, A CRYSTAL OR SILVER DISH? YOU CAN EVEN RE-PUPOSE PICTURE FRAMES AS JEWELRY HOLDERS..,

~ HAVE FUN BEING CREATIVE IN YOUR DRESSING ROOM AND/OR YOUR WALK IN CLOSET, YOUR CLOSET, YOUR EN SUITE BATH WITH THE USE OF YOUR VANITY AND DRESSING TABLE ACCESSORIES..,

..,BY USING ITEMS OF MANY KINDS FOR USE HOLDING MAKE-UP, MAKE UP BRUSHES, HAIR ACCESSORIES, FLOWERS, PERFUME BOTTLES, NAIL POLISH , JEWELERY, ETC.

Hello there my lovelies!

Welcome once again, it's been awhile since I posted last..,

I don't know about you, but I love all things to do with dressing room/walk-in-closets, dressing/vanity tables, dress makers forms, jewellery, fashion accessories, perfume bottles and in general, feminine, 'girly' sorts of things..,

..,All beautifully displayed in a dressing room/closet or on a lovely vanity table..,

If this if also what you love also, sit back and enjoy!

Since Valentines day was drawing ever closer; some pink sweet heart roses for our dressing room perhaps?..,

Here is a gorgeous, mirrored vanity in a master, en suite; perhaps adjoining a fabulous dressing room/walk-in-closet!.., (I do not even remember where I got the picture for my idea files); yet it is indeed lovely, isn't it?

How about dreamy visit to Mariah Carey's fabulous dressing room/closet?..,

I love this dreamy, chic dressing room with this fab chaise lounge and those darling flower-esque-shaped light fixture, hot pink shades and fun carpet also.., Don't you think this would be a stupendous, simply maah-velous place to start and end your day daahlings?

Fun!.., Aren't these 'sweet' little fashion accessories cookies just so cute?

I hope that you are all advancing towards the lovely season of Spring! ..,

A corner of my dressing room closet..,
Where I live, the season is always slow to unfold, so at this time of year my thoughts turn towards Spring cleaning and doing the household improvements, as well as organizing all the little nooks, crannies and closets.

Come the good weather, I know I'll far to prefer to be outside working in the garden!..,

A touch of 'ooh la la', whimsical chic..,

I believe this darling chair may be a chair that was designed by McKenzie Childs, though I'm not sure; it is nonetheless a fabulously whimsical shade of lipstick red and would be 'tres delish' as an accent hair in a dressing room closet!..,

Whether you have a modest size closet, a more commodious walk-in-closet or perhaps you may even have a dressing room size closet; regardless of the size of your own closet space, it is my hope that there will be something in today's post to inspire you.

Welcome to my first, The Plumed Pen's, Sweet Things Thursday, where my other blog, The French Dressing Room is my first guest blogger for my new, Thursday "meme".., Enjoy!'

Here we are in January 2010!~ I hope the new year thus far, is very rewarding, and full of creativity and enjoyment for all of you dear friends, as you journey forth in this brand new year! ~I hope it will also be filled with delight and wonderment for each and every one of you!..,

~On that note, I am going to "branch out" just a little this year with some fresh ideas for new pictures of lovely "goodies" and pretty things, that I plan to share with you here at, The French Dressing Room blog!..,

Please do feel most welcome to come back each week to see what delightful little visual surprises may await!.., I plan to also include amongst those goodies, many pretty "eye-candy" pictures of vintage dressforms featuring, lacy confections and dresses; (though not pictures of lingeree on acual models per se, dear folk).

Rather, I have decided to focus also primarily on pretty perfume bottles, "both simple and chic, as well as lacy, vintage-look" clothing on dress forms*. Ones* that are vintage and that have a Victorian look, RANGING THROUGH TO A MORE PARED DOWN- Parisienne-CHIC- LOOK; MUCH LIKE THE CLASSIC CLEAN LINED "FRENCH DRESSING" LOOK THAT INSPIRED, A BIT OF A "PUN ON THE NAME,"FRENCH DRESSING" FOR OUR The French Dressing Room blog..,

~ (The kind of clothing*, for instance, that you might display on a vintage dress form in your own dressing room/closet if you have the room to do so)..,

~Also,vanity and dressing table accessories, artwork, crafts, (and projects of the same theme), and finally photos of lovely dressing rooms, (including my own pictures of my dressing room, from time to time).., Even the occasional article about organizational ideas for closets and dressing rooms!..,

Welcome,

"Peeking through the keyhole" once more..,

***( ONE POSTING BELOW THIS ONE; THERE ARE MORE NEW PICTURES)..,

Today folks , I'll explain a bit of the story behind the creation of my closet. You see, my husband and I were "sans" closet.., ( loosely translated, meaning in essence, french for "without"); we were without a master bedroom closet, to be specific. Why?- Because dear readers, whereas we own and operate a Bed & Breakfast, all of the closets that we previously had ready and complete access to,( and as we have no children, that was a lot of extra closet space for our prior use ); those closets, are now being used on a regular basis, naturally, by our guests..,

What to do?.., Well to make along story as short as it should be, I went looking for space that could be re purposed as a dressing room closet.., Voila, the space was one story down, adjoining our master en suite via an oak stair case..., You haven't lived, and not in the "best" sense of the phrase, until you've had to retrieve your clothing on a daily basis, from the main floor hall closet that guests.passing through the front hall have access to at all times of the day!!.., fun!..,

It just so happens that the space we chose was really the only logical space available. I'm so delighted with the serendipity of it all!.., I've always dreamed of such a space!.., Don't you just love it when such opportunities that, "tickle you to the core of your being", present themselves in life?.., I surely do!.., As I always say; "the creative life, there's truly no life like it"! ..,

A Little Taste Of Things To Come, A Preview ;

Hello once again my lovelies;

I'M OFF FOR A SHORT "BLOGGING NAP", but first..,

As promised, a little preview of things to come. A wee little peek through "the key hole".., The room you are viewing is our new dressing room closet.

It is as yet a couple of weeks away from completion, with many little details and "grace notes", so to speak, yet to be revealed.., Do check back every now and again, to see what little surprises may await! The photos of this room are a little softer focus than they will be when we are ready for the full reveal.., Also, dear readers, I will show you the adjoining bedroom suite some time soon as well..,
* It is interesting to me that whereas I am not used to the various, "colour temperature", settings on my new camera as yet; in one or two of the pictures, the room 's walls look golden, olivey, green.- When in fact they are not greenish, or even gold, rather a softgreige, ( grey/ beige), warm tone named, (rather appropriately); "French Cream", available from Benjamin Moore paints..,

Don't you just love peeking into other people's homes for a "blogsville", tour?

Hello Folks;

Today dear readers, is going to be another gorgeous summer day! Hope you're having a great summer!..,

And speaking of summer, as I have discovered, this time of year is most probably when NOT to ask your dear hubby to build you a dressing room closet!..,(I really don't blame him, it's so beautiful outside and he loves gardening and golfing)!..,

Oh well,.., slowly, but surely, the closet cabinetry is taking shape! I can't wait to share the photos with you!

Hello dear readers;

Welcome to my newest of a series of blogs; The French Dressing Room!

This will be a short and sweet posting today. This post is about the little extra decorative touches that one can add to their dressing room closet space. Also a picture of my dressing table in the suite adjoining, what will soon be my new dressing room closet.

Here is a picture that I have create as digital art, (yet because I have and inherent, creative "restlessness"), I will probably change the art from time to time on a whim!..,

We will be showing photos of more dressing rooms soon, as well as more creative tidbits that can add that fun and fashionista sense of sparkle to any dressing room!

Well hello once again;

I am delighted to see some knew followers since The French Dressing Room blog site began posting four days ago...., I'm so glad you've come by!.., Welcome!

This posting will be brief today. The picture above is one that I have created to be one that I'm going to use as one of the pictures/ pieces of decorative art, in my new dressing room: YOU MAY CLICK ON THE ABOVE PICTURES TO ENLARGE!

My husband and I are currently working on our dream, dressing room closet, so I 'll share some photos soon.

A Cheerful hello there;

For my third blog posting on this new blog site that I've devoted to all things dressing room, while, I'm awaiting the uploading of pictures of several luscious examples of such confections, I'll simply show you some dressing room accessories that I have designed..,

The example that I have included today is an original PAPER PRINCESS, creation of mine. This example of a jewelry display mannequin is designed to be used as a dressing table mannequin for jewelry display.

* Please note: IT IS NOT THREE DIMENTIONAL, AND THERFORE NOT WHAT YOU MAY THINK OF AS TO HOW A TRADITIONAL MANNEQUIN WOULD BE MADE.., YET THEY ARE FUNTUCTIONAL, THEY DO STAND UPRIGHT AND HOLD JEWELRY.., more later.

Welcome to the second blog posting of my brand new blog: The French Dressing Room!

Ladies, (and gentlemen, if a few should happen along), whomever you may be dear readers, you are most welcome; we are going to have fun with this site!

It has long been a dream of mine to have one of those dream of a dressing room; walk in closets that you read and drool about in the higher end life-style and shelter magazine's!

I have also, often perused the Internet in search for the perfect glimpse into the dressing room/ closets of a rarefied few, for inspiration. What did I find?...,

Though I did find some amazing photos, all too often, although they were tantalizingly gorgeous, I just could not seem to satiate my appetite for those visions of chic orderliness, fashion, and yummy eye candy, accessories..,

In short, this is why I created this new blog. For all of us out there who yearn for such a place of inspiration and daydreaming of those luxuries, yet heretofore could , alas, not find such a blog..,

Well here it is, and it is my sincere desire to create just such a place of inspiration for all of you; this blog is for all of you kindred spirits out there and folks of like mind !.., (I'll also set up an email account when I have a chance, so y0u can show me your corner of the world with regard to your pretty pictures).

We will also look at the more affordable ways to incorporate such luxuries into your home, because that is so important these days!..,

I'm also going to post pictures of my own dream, dressing room closet as soon as the cabinets are finished being built; I can hardly wait to share the pictures with you dear readers!..,
